Joey Barton believes the England football team would have been pilloried by the press if they had courted a fraction of the controversy that shadowed the country’s rugby team in the recent World Cup.

Joey Barton has criticised team-mate Adel Taarabt for his behaviour on the pitch during QPR’s six-goal thrashing at Craven Cottage earlier this month. Taarabt was substituted after 46 minutes the match, much to his chagrin, and he left the stadium immediately to catch a bus home.

Midfielder and Internet philosopher, Joey Barton, has expressed concern at the running of Arsenal football club, after the Gunners’ chairman, Peter Hill-Wood, denied that the Londoners had an interest in signing the QPR man, shortly after he was made available for free by Newcastle United.
