Barton makes Newcastle prem debut

Barton made his Newcastle premierhsip debut today in their 2-1 loss to Reading.
It was a poor display by Newcastle and they were lucky to score at all. Barton had little part in the game, but Allardyce will be looking for him to come back strong after his injury. Newcastle have had a good start to the season and were predicted to win against Reading who had conceded 21 goals in 10 premier league matches. However Newcastle had a very bad day defensively.

Joey Barton has been forced to delay his return from injury by another month.
The 25-year-old is yet to make his competitive debut for the club after fracturing a metatarsal in a pre-season friendly at Carlisle just weeks after his £5.8million move from Manchester City.
Sam Allardyce said: “Joey Barton has got no chance for Everton on Sunday. It will be four or five weeks, or at least three or four reserve games.”

Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton has shrugged off an ugly attack from TV presenter Eamonn Holmes.
Sky News breakfast host Holmes used the unacceptable C-word to describe Barton in the October edition of lads mag Maxim, causing some upset at his Newcastle club, who alerted Barton to the outburst.
